A new diagnostic & approach to unlocking AI

The future belongs to nimble organisations.

Less than 1% of organisations are ready to adopt global-level changes like AI. We exist to help companies like yours fix that, with rigorous research, hard-won experience and a clear pathway to you becoming genuinely nimble.

Our approach

Move beyond advice into nimbleness adoption.

Activate has identified eight powers scientifically linked to successfully-scale AI adoption. Our diagnostic tool measures where an organisation stands across these eight powers, relative to peers, over time. The Activate Strategy then converts this data into a sequenced, prioritised pathway for activation.

It's the data difference between your organisation merely surviving and actively thriving.

The framework

Eight powers of the Nimble Organisation.

Eight powers enable you to adopt AI at scale and generate real ROI. Each is underpinned by key pillars. Maturity is assessed through our diagnostic survey.

MIT · 2025

of agentic AI projects are cancelled before going live.

Industry meta-analysis · 2026

1%

of organisations are ready for this level of change.

AI ROI failure is an organisational readiness problem — not a technology problem. Leadership, vision, finance, people, culture, process, risk, governance.

About us

About .

Activate is the brain-child of two of the most advanced thinkers in Australian organisational artificial intelligence adoption. Each brings their highly experienced, specialist perspective to helping organisations face any tumultuous change like AI and adopt it faster, integrate it deeper and adapt it to rapidly changing customer needs.

01

David Walker

Chief Technologist

David has spent nearly four decades at the intersection of technology and organisational transformation — from founding an ASEAN data science firm to serving as Group CTO at two of the world's leading banks. His work at DBS Bank in Singapore has been taught by MIT to boards globally for over a decade: a definitive real-world example of a traditional institution reimagining how it operates, makes decisions, and scales change from the inside out. Most recently CTO at Westpac, David co-founded Activate to work at the intersection of enterprise AI and organisational agility. He brings the scar tissue — and the proof points.

02

Tracy Whybrow

Chief Strategist

Tracy brings 25 years of experience in strategy, innovation, and human-centred design — helping organisations across financial services, retail, infrastructure, pharma, and telco design new futures. As former CEO of 2nd Road, Australia's first strategic innovation consultancy, and Director at WhatIf Innovation in London, she has guided both global enterprises and agile challengers through complex transformation. Tracy is the co-founding architect of Activate's strategic methodology — the reason the diagnostic doesn't just identify where organisations are, but points to where they need to go.
